“This is my portrait taken by the Army photographer at Puckapunyal, Victoria when I was conscripted into National Service in May 1968. It was a very proud time for me to be serving my Country as my father and grandfather had done before me so courageously.
Unfortunately, in 1980, one of my Boxer dogs had knocked it off our lounge room cabinet and chewed it to pieces, I was distraught at the time as the photo meant so much to me so I placed the pieces in an envelope and put it away.” - Reginald Crossingham
“It was a special moment tonight giving Dad his Christmas present the family had painted for him by the talented Xinh Lapinski. A photo dad had tucked away in pieces, that one of his dogs got to, 40 years ago. Merry Christmas Dad. A priceless moment”. - Richelle Brown
